Scott McIntyre ends Idol journey

DUPED by my informant or could be that Adam Lambert intentionally made a flip-flop when USA learned he was going to sing a Stevie Nicks song. I couldn’t contain my emotion as I watched him perform Tears For Fears’ “Mad World” last night. His arrangement of the song was exceptional! He earned a standing ovation from the judges. Unfortunately, the show ran out of time that’s why nothing much was said about his outstanding performance.

Before Adam, the spotlight was on Matt Giraud and Allison Iraheta as they did a wonderfully new interpretation of Stevie Wonder’s “Part Time Lover” and Bonnie Raitt’s  “I Can’t Make You Love Me”, respectively.  Anoop Desai’s rendition of “True Colors,” a Cyndi Lauper original, was also enjoyed by the judges. Simon said Anoop’s like a singing yo-yo for sometimes his performance is up and sometimes down (I find him more like rubber flip-flops for inconsistency). Not everybody in America likes him (including myself) so he hit the bottom three for the second time awhile ago.

Also called to the most unlikely place in this competition were Lil Rounds and Scott McIntyre. Among the three, Scott was eliminated and despite his plea for another chance, the judges didn’t use their save power on him.

By the way, did I mention Brazilian flip flop earlier? Just got myself a bunch of colorful wholesale sandals from a flip flop supplier.

And there was light... Writing about music and other showbiz stuff used to be fun, but since moving to a company whose nature is distant from showbiz, I realized writing about extensive topics or subjects is where the thrill lies. I understand some writers prefer to write about their object of interest. That's good, but nothing beats touching on all aspects of life. By doing so, I experience life as it is.
